The Korean Society for Horticultural Science (KSHS), founded in 1963, has become the largest and most active group in agricultural science in Korea with registered members of more than 1800.
The KSHS holds regular meetings twice a year, the first one in May and the second one in October. The meetings are usually held for 2 days and more than 400 papers covering entire sections of horticultural science and technology are presented at each meeting. In addition to the oral and poster presentations, 3 symposia and plenary lectures by invited prominent horticultural researchers over the world are regularly scheduled.
KSHS publishes Horticulture, Environment, and Biotechnology (six issues per year) and Korean Journal of Horticutural Science & Technology (four issues a year). Besides the journals, a number of publications are also available including Cumulative Index.
The KSHS has also been maintaining close relationship with neighborhood countries in various ways and seeking for means of closer cooperation between countries, especially in East Asia.
