“NACF strives to earn society’s trust and respect”
NACF was established in 1961 to improve the economic, social, and cultural status of farmers in Korea and for balanced development of the national economy. For the last 44 years, NACF has stood solidly by the nation’s farmers and achieved many successes. It has also pursued guidance projects to realize benefits for farmers, economic projects to promote sales of agricultural products, projects to provide agricultural equipment and devices, and banking projects.
Now, the Korean agricultural industry and farming villages are facing their most difficult challenge ever as increasing volumes of imported rice are sold on the domestic market and because of the agricultural negotiations of the WTO/DDA. The NACF is proactively dealing with this situation. It is conducting the “New Farming Village, New NACF” campaign to promote innovation in agriculture.
The campaign is specifically geared to more effectively provide support for the actual benefit of farmers and members of the cooperatives. In addition, through the ‘One Company, One Village Partnership’ campaign, it is seeking to promote national pride in farming villages to keep and sustain the villages, which is in the entire nation’s interest.
Agriculture will become an increasingly important part of the bio industry in the future. Working together with farmers with pride and dignity as the guardian of food security and health of all Koreans and to maintain our beautiful environment, NACF hereby pledges to redouble its efforts to make farming villages more competitive and to make them better place to live in.
